1. What is TWB Online?
TWB Online is a training program for technical writing and documentation. It is a formalized training of students from a remote location. Students who cannot attend a program due to distance or time scheduling constraints can benefit immensely from this program.
In TWB Online:
Students are not required to sit in a classroom to attend the program. The program is self-paced and can be delivered via the Internet to virtually anywhere in the world. TWB Online will be delivered over the Internet using a combination of flash demos, and correspondence.
2. Why should I enroll in this program?
If you cannot attend a classroom program due to distance and flexibility of time, you could enroll for TWB Online.
3. How is TWB Online different from the classroom program?
TWB Online is similar to the traditional classroom program. It has the same value and fulfills the same graduation requirements. Program material, demos of exercises, written assignments, interactions between students and faculty are all a part of the TWB Online curriculum as well.
The Difference:
This program differs from the traditional classroom program. In TWB Online you have the flexibility of scheduling the study time at your own pace. You are not required to sit in a classroom and you can avoid travel.In addition to this,the communication with facilitators and classmates and assignment submission is done electronically.
4. Is TWB Online as effective as a classroom program?
Yes, TWB Online is very effective. In this program, you can learn as much as you would in a classroom environment, provided you are well disciplined and self motivated. TWB Online enables you to study at your own pace, with no pressure on time. This results in a more effective learning.
5. Will TWB Online carry the same value as the regular TWB program?
Yes, this program carries the same value as the regular TWB program. The program content, assignments, mentorship and demos for both the programs are the same and you are assessed based on the same parameters.
6. How do I enroll for the program?
To enroll for the program, you need to complete and submit the program’s online registration formalities. Please see the Registration page for more details.

1. Will I need to be connected to the Internet all the time?
No, you do not have to be connected to the Internet all the time. The program material will be available on a CD. You need to be connected to the Internet only to access the TWB Online portal. The portal will be used only for instances like submitting assignments, viewing grades and interacting with the facilitator.
2. Do I have to be online at a certain time of day?
No, there is no specified time that you need to be online.

1. Can I do the program from anywhere in the world?
Yes, you can do the program from anywhere in the world. However, mentorship will be provided based on the Indian Standard Time (IST). All your assignments will also have to be submitted based on the time indicated in TWB Online.
2. Once I have enrolled for the program, can I continue if I have to leave from one country to another country?

1. What is the duration of TWB Online?
The duration of the program is three months.
2. Once I register for the program, how soon can I begin the program?
You can begin the program between 3 to 10 days after registration. Once you register for the program you will receive the program material and the login details to access the TWB Online portal. The date of commencement will depend on your location as we factor in the start date only after you have acknowledged the receipt of the training kit.
3. What is meant by self-paced learning?
A self-paced learning allows you to work at your own pace, in a specific duration. Self-paced programs offer a lot of flexibility and allows you to fit the coursework into your schedule. You have the option of rescheduling your time. Example, if you planned to study on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday, for three hours each day and due to some unavoidable circumstances you could not. You have the option of studying on Thursday, Friday and Saturday instead.
4. Is this a time bound program?
Yes, this is a time bound program. However, you have three months to complete this program as compared to the regular classroom program of two months. The program has been designed keeping in mind the time constraints faced by working students.

1. How will I receive my program material?
You will receive your program material via a CD. This CD will be mailed to you after you enroll for the program.
2. What do I do if I lose the CD?
Please ensure you are careful with the CD and do not lose it. The CD contains your program material and without the CD you will not be able to access the TWB Online portal.
3. What will I be taught in this program?
TWB Online will consist of the following units:
Unit 1: Introduction/Structured Editor
Unit 2: Fundamentals of Technical Writing
Unit 3: Parts of a Manual
Unit 4: Documentation Methodology
Unit 5: Authoring tool

1. How will I be taught?

2. How will the mentorship be provided during the program?
Every batch will have a facilitator.
Students can clarify doubts and interact with the facilitator via the online messaging system/e-mail.
The TWB facilitator will be available online during regular business hours Monday to Friday (9 a.m. to 11 p.m, 4 p.m to 5.30 p.m - IST)
If the facilitator is not available online, you can still send a message and the facilitator will get back to you on the next business day.
3. Will the mentorship extend beyond the program, if yes, for how long?
Yes, the mentorship will extend for an additional three months after you complete the program.
4. During the program, how do I get my doubts clarified by the facilitator?
You can clarify your doubts with the facilitator by sending a message using TWB Online’s inbuilt chat feature.

1. What are the basic educational qualifications required for this program?
To enroll for TWB Online:
You should be a graduate or pursuing your graduation.
You should have a strong command over the English language with a basic understanding of sentence construction and grammar.
You should have working knowledge on how to use a computer.
2. What skills do I need for TWB Online?
3. Are there any stipulated system and Internet requirements to access/work on the program material?
Yes, to work on the program material you would need to ensure you have the following system requirements:
A computer with:
· Processor speed-1.50GHz or more
· RAM - Minimum of 256 MB
· Free disk space- 1 GB
· CD-ROM Drive
An Internet connection with:
· Dial-up (56K or more) or a Broadband connection
· Internet Explorer version 6.0 or higher
· An e-mail account to send and receive e-mails with the TWB program facilitators.
· An installed version of MS Word 2000 - not an open source version.
4. Does this program require me to install any additional hardware or software?
Yes you would have to install a couple of tools that are required for the Technical Writing program. This will be provided to you.

1. During the program, how will I be evaluated?
You will be evaluated based on the assignments you are expected to submit.
2. Are there specific due dates for the assignments?
Yes, all assignments have to be submitted by a particular date. However, initial drafts of assignments can be sent to the facilitator for review prior to final submission.
3. Can I submit the assignments before the due date?
Yes you can. The program provides a date range within which you can submit these assignments. You need to ensure that you submit the assignment within this range. So if the due date is 5-October-07, the date range will be 1st Oct to 5th October.
4. What happens if I am unable to submit my assignments on time?
All assignments have to be submitted within the given date range. Marks will be deducted if the submission of your assignment is delayed beyond the due date.
5. How do I submit assignments?
All assignments are submitted via the TWB Online portal.

1. What do I do if I have any technical problems?
Only technical issues related with the TWB Online portal will be handled by TWB. If you have any issues regarding your Internet connection or hardware you will need to seek help on your own.

1. If I wish to discontinue the program after finishing a module, is the program fee refundable?
No, TWB Online students are required to pay the entire program fee at the time of registration. This fee is a one-time payment and will not be refunded. Please check with the TWB Business Development team for further details.
2. What is the mode of payment for the program?
The payment for the program can be made either through a Check, Demand Draft or Credit Card. Register Now
3. Can I make the payment in installments?
No, for TWB Online you will have to make a one-time payment.

1. Can I transfer from TWB Online to the classroom program?
At this point of time you cannot transfer from TWB Online to the classroom program.
2. Will TWB guarantee placement assistance on successful completion?
Yes, TWB will assist you with our On Campus program.
3. What is the minimum score I need to pass and get certified?
To get certified, you need to score 50% of the total marks.
